Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Navigate value guarantee?
If we review your project and cannot identify value or meaningful improvement, you do not pay our fee. This guarantee reflects our confidence in the measurable impact of our work.
What makes Navigate different from other building consultants?
We combine real Tier 1 and Tier 2 construction experience with independent thinking. Unlike builder advice, our recommendations are free from backend interests, and unlike solo consultants, we offer a professional team with broad technical capability.
Do your services replace an ECI with a Builder?
No, not at all. We recommend to our client’s that they enter into an ECI with a Builder when their project involves a complex Refurbishment or has an extensive Heritage component, for example. Some projects are so specialised and bespoke that there aren’t many builders in the market who can deliver them, and in these instances we recommend locking in a builder sooner rather than later to reduce the risk of delaying the project.
If your project does not have these characteristics, then please reach out to us. We offer all the services a builder provides during an ECI phase, except we give our clients the flexibility on when and how they engage with builders, ensuring competitive tension for as long as possible.
Do you offer Project Management Services?
No, but we work with some impressive project management firms and we’d be happy to recommend them to you. We are typically engaged directly by the Developer and work with their client-side project manager during the delivery of the services, essentially becoming another consultant on the project team.
What does “independent advice” mean in construction consulting?
It means our recommendations are based solely on what is best for the project. We do not have commercial ties to builders, subcontractors, or suppliers, so the advice you receive is unbiased and focused entirely on value, efficiency, and risk reduction.
How does Navigate identify value opportunities in a project?
We conduct structured design and buildability reviews, analyse construction methodologies, assess staging and logistics, and evaluate cost and efficiency decisions. This approach helps uncover opportunities that are often missed in traditional design processes.
At which stage of a project should we engage Navigate?
You can engage us at any point, but the highest impact comes during planning and early design. This is where small adjustments can deliver major improvements in cost, constructability, and commercial performance.
What is included in a design and buildability review?
A review typically includes assessment of overall design efficiency, structural and services layouts, staging, logistics, buildability risks, value engineering opportunities, material selections, and alignment with key project objectives.
Can Navigate support us during ECI or tender submissions?
Yes. We help builders manage the entire ECI process, coordinate submission requirements, prepare methodologies and CMPs, produce programs, and develop clear win strategies. We can also provide bid writers and graphic resources when needed.
How does Navigate charge for its services?
We operate on a transparent fee-for-service model. Pricing depends on project scale, scope of work, and expertise required, but every engagement is quoted upfront with no hidden fees or backend arrangements.
Where do you operate in Australia?
We have projects all along the east coast of Australia and Western Australia, including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Perth, Adelaide, and many more locations. We operate Australia wide.
I have a quick construction question. Can you help?
Of course! We’d be more than happy to answer any questions you have, and don’t worry this is a complimentary service. Please reach out through our Contact Us page and we’ll be in contact.
Where did the Navigate New Business name come from?
The term “New Business” is commonly used within the Construction industry as the phase or team that is responsible for winning work or projects. In Construction it’s typically the phase from project conception through to builder appointment. We specialise in providing services to our clients during this phase.
Navigate – we help our clients navigate the new business phase of their project.
